Summer Program

PiPES Explorers and Investigators Camps 2024 will be the week of June 3, 2024. Only students from our PiPES Partner Schools will be able to attend. Camp applications will be available starting in March. Interested students can email pipes@utk.edu or the program coordinator, Hayden Womack, at znr244@vols.utk.edu to express interest and request additional information.


PiPES Explorers Camp 2023 was held from June 13-16, 2023 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 51 Campers participated in many different activities across campus.


PiPES Explorers Camp 2022 was held on June 14-17, 2022. 37 campers from our four partner schools had a great time exploring the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus and participating in many different activities.


The 2021 Summer Program was held on June 9-11, 2021. The first two days were at SQHS, and the last day was at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 34 students from SQHS, SWHS, and TPHS participated in camp.


The 2019 Summer Program was held on June 4-6, 2019 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 37 students from JHS, SQHS, SWHS, and TPHS participated in camp.


The 2018 Summer Program was held on June 5-7, 2018 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 59 students from CCHS, UCHS, JHS, SQHS, SWHS, and TPHS participated in camp.


The 2017 Summer Program was held on June 6-8, 2017 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. 55 students from CCHS, UCHS, and JHS participated in camp.


The inaugural PIPES Summer Program was held on June 7-9, 2016 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. 70 students from CCHS, UCHS, and JHS joined us.

Transportation was provided to students to and from their high school campus each day. Students received three meals each day of the summer program as well as a $150 stipend for full participation. Students toured the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus, participated in activities in various science labs on campus, and heard from speakers about STEMM careers and postsecondary education.
