The inaugural PIPES Summer Program was held at the University of Tennessee on June 7-9, 2016. 70 sophomores and juniors from Campbell County High School, Jellico High School, and Union County High School attended camp. 10 undergraduate and graduate students served as camp counselors.
Students participated in various activities designed to provide exposure to postsecondary education and health sciences STEMM careers. Activities included taking a campus tour, developing community health outreach mock grant proposals, participating in leadership activities on the Ag campus, touring Engineering science labs, and completing a scavenger hunt to identify student support services across campus.
